Today let’s talk about celebrating Halloween. Or All Saints Day. Or both.
To get us in the mood, here’s a cute link to a site where you can practice carving your own pumpkin. Here’s a site where you can view some amazing professionally carved pumpkins of all kinds. And at the Better Homes and Gardens Halloween page you’ll find pumpkin crafts, recipes, and party ideas for every kind of fall celebration.
As I explained last year,I have no real problems with celebrating Halloween, though we don’t doit. We do host an Oktoberfest each year where swarms of kids carvepumpkins and gorge themselves on candy corn and cider, so seasonalcelebrations are pretty well covered. And since Daniel likes to occupyat least one of my arms at all times, costumes for an upcoming AllSaints Day party will be kept quite simple this year.
So what about you? Do you celebrate Halloween, All Saints Day, or both? What factors have influenced your family’s decision?
