Baked Custard

4 eggs
4 cups milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
ground nutmeg

In a mixing bowl, beat eggs. Add the milk, sugar, vanilla and salt; stir well. Pour into eight ungreased 6-ounce custard cups. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Place cups in a baking pan. Fill pan with hot water to a depth of 1 in. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
