An Interlude by William Sergeant Kendall, 1907
Dear Mom,
Thank you for teaching me that I can do anything I put my mind to.
That love is more important than money.
That babies are blessings.
That God loves me and created me to live forever with him forever in heaven.
That it is possible to diaper a baby, fold the laundry, break up a gang of wrestling boys, and hold a meaningful conversation all at the same time.
That today is not forever — babies grow up and mommies do too.
That there is no excuse in the world for ruining a perfectly good pie by using anything other than a homemade crust.
That prayer isn’t only for Sundays and bedtimes, but for every minute of every day.
That no matter where in the world I go, no matter what mistakes I make, no matter what rejections or failures I might endure, there is someone in the world who loves me exactly as I am. Completely and unconditionally.
I love you too. May God bless you today and always.
Danielle
