NOTES

How do you begin your day? With peaceful prayer and journaling time? Or in a mad frenzy to get everyone dressed, fed, and out the door? How we start our days can set us up for failure or success, regardless of our life circumstances. Putting some thought into our morning routines can make a lot of sense. Some ideas I share for starting your day right:

1. Get up early enough

2. Connect with God and others

3. Move your body

4. Practice Gratitude

5. Set a Goal

What do your mornings look like? What works for you, or what have learned about morning routines that helps you put your best foot forward each day? Share your ideas and I will share them with other Girlfriends listeners.

Also this week, I share an email I received from Jenny who is discerning whether or not to begin dating again after a bad experience. I share a little about trusting in God’s plan, and how hard that can be sometimes, and suggest we pray as a community for Jenny this week. If you have thoughts to share o this topic, send me your feedback!

    Hi Danielle,
I am listening to your reply to Jenny and it is hitting home for me. I take pieces from each of your podcasts, but you are saying “trust in Jesus”. I think I have been doing that in the past couple of years, but I need to hear it again. My marriage broke down last Fall after my husband went through months of very high job stress. I am still hurt and angry in addition to lonely in spite of having a great, supportive parents and other family members. My sons are 22 and 17, and are trying to stay neutral and I respect that.

Thankfully my Church has a New Visions chapter that is an active social group as well as support group. It is nice to be around people who have had similar experiences.

I manage to take a nugget or two form each of your podcasts in spite of he fact that a lot of the time I start out wondering “Does this pertain to me?” Thanks for all you do,

    Maggie

  • Thanks so much for your feedback Maggie! Trusting in Jesus is the hardest thing sometimes, especially when life throws a “curveball.” Praying for you and your family!
