First, the all-important baby chick update. I feel like a nervous grandmother here. One chick has hatched, a second is on its way pecking and peeping loudly, and a third egg is a suspected “dud.” Somebody call Templeton, please. The proud mother hen with hatchlings on the feast of the Assumption is named Regina. Of course.

Call for Recipes
Peony Moss of the Sleepy Mommies blog has put out a call for recipes. She writes:
“Basically, we’re looking for recipes that will feed large families (eight servings or more). The simpler, the better. We’re also trying to avoid “goo” (dried onion soup, canned cream of mushroom soup, etc.)” Go share!
