This week we are talking about marriage. HELP! Marriage is hard!

Seriously, the topic of practicing generosity in marriage is an important and a timely one, because every one of us who is married is called to holiness inside of our marriage, and that is not going to be an easy thing.

We all have times in marriage where things go great and it’s easy to get along, but all also experience tougher times when it’s hard to keep going, and where commitment and love become a choice — and a HARD one at that!

I share some of my own less-than-stellar experiences and behaviors inside of my own marriage. I have more often than I like to admit chosen to be selfish and prideful in place of practicing generosity in marriage. It’s important that we be honest with one another about the challenges of marriage, because they are real, but it is equally important that we call on one another to be better and to live up to our commitment in marriage, even through the tough times. Join me in talking about this and share your feedback.

I would love to hear recommendations for new podcasts (from you and other listeners)! I’ll let you know the ones I enjoy, but I think I heard about a couple of these on your podcast.
    –Happier with Gretchen Rubin
–Messy Parenting with Mike & Alicia Hernon
–UMD Newman Catholic Campus Ministry (homilies preached by Fr. Michael Schmitz – he is such a dynamic speaker and even though his main audience is a college campus, I find his message fits for anyone)

  • I love all of those, Jessica. Thank you for the recommendations! I will pass them along, and hopefully we will have others too.

    The Simple Show

The way I heard it – Mike Rowe – love this one

I second Fr. Michael Schmitz – been listening to him for a couple years now. I enjoy that he was/is an athlete.
