Crisco Cream?

As Stephen’s First Communion cake cools on the counter, I’ve been researching buttercream frosting recipes.

Can I just say … blech?

How dare anyone call a recipe “buttercream” when it’s made with shortening and a cup of flour? Or (probably the worst) butter-flavored Crisco?

I’m trying not to be a baking snob here, but EW.
