Here’s Eamon at Heinz Field last weekend. Dan and Eamon, my two crazy men, drove to Pittsburgh to watch the Steelers make it to the Super Bowl.
Dan might have called Polamalu’s interception and touchdown the “most beautiful thing” he ever saw.
I would be offended, except that I saw it on TV and even I have to agree that it was a thing of beauty.

Counsil is a sandlot legend from the area of Raleigh, N.C., Hamilton’s neck of the woods. He used to pitch hours of batting practice to Hamilton’s older brother, then to Hamilton, during the American Legion and high school years.

May 17th, 2008 He’s up with the sun, pulling on socks, tying cleats, and crawling under the living room couch to retrieve his hat.
“Is it time now?” he asks every fifteen minutes for over two hours until at last it is time and we pile into the van.
“Will you be watching?” he wants to know as we drive to the field.
“Of course I will.”
“Will everyone be watching?”
“Yes, sweetie.
