2. Next, The Gist! We were in Boston this week, taping more episodes. This project has been such a fun learning process for me. Like any learning process, it has been made up of equal parts hilarity and humility so far.

3. Finally, the March for Life! I will be in D.C. on Monday with my four oldest kids and other members of our parish youth group. Will you be there?

I will be on the Son Rise Morning Show a little after 6:00 am on Monday, checking in and sharing the experience.

I will have a pro-life piece up at the Washington Post on Monday as well (not sure I will be able to check back in and link it up from the road) that I hope you will check out and support with comments. I am told there will be a “pro-choice” piece running as well, so I hope our side can be well represented.

I also plan to tweet my way through the trip, so follow me on Twitter for more details.

I wrote a column for the Washington Post that challenged the wisdom of women cheerfully tweeting about their abortions and shutting those who regret their abortions out of the conversation.

Then I was officially “in it” on Twitter.



I had some thoughtful conversations with people who disagree with me, but I was also treated to enough angry vitriol that I decided we could better serve the pro-life cause with positive action. So I asked pro-lifers on Twitter to use an #IAmProLife hashtag and tell us why. I will be re-tweeting people’s responses at my Twitter account all day today.

If you are on Twitter, please join us in making a positive statement in defense of the unborn. And encourage your followers to do the same. Let your pro-life voice be heard!

When I read that a pro-life message had been rejected for being “too graphic” I was sure this was some unfair liberal media bias being played out in the name of sensitivity. I rolled my eyes and clicked play.

But then I found the ad deeply disturbing.

Was this a real show? Were these real pregnant women leaving the “choice” about whether or not to allow their unborn babies to live in the hands of an internet audience? It all sounded like a bad made for TV movie, never mind a web TV series.

A little careful reading at their website, though, reveals that this is a “fake” reality television series. The characters we meet on the screen are played by actors—but we, the audience, really will determine the outcomes of these characters’ pregnancies. In other words, our votes will determine what choices the writers will have each of these characters make in this “fake” reality show.

I’ve watched the Obama administration tell us how much they care about protecting lives from the flu. If they really want to help make children safer, let me make a suggestion: Start doing all you can to move this country to being pro-life.
