What I’m Up Against

With our Oktoberfest just a couple of days away, this morning found me mixing up a triple batch of beer rolls. I needed an extra large bowl for the dough’s first rise, so I went looking for my large pasta pot. And looking. And looking. How could I lose a giant pasta pot?

In desperation, I finally called out, “Does anyone know where my pasta pot is?”

Hand in the Dough

has begun. Two more weeks… one more week… five more days, I’ve beenhearing. And then this morning: Three more days till Oktoberfest! Thekids can barely contain their excitement.

I, however, have a slightly different perspective. Three more days? Three more days?? I’ve simply got to get something done around here. This morning I decided to get a start on some baking. The beer rolls seemed a good place to start.
