We are such groupies. Every year we manage to see the Blue Angels somewhere. This year it was a lovely weekend trip to Maine where we took in the sights at the airshow and got our annual fix of Blue Angel thrills and excitement.
Highlights of our trip included the following:
? Eamon announcing that he wants to be a “Blue Angel” pilot when he grows up and his mother asking why on earth her little boy should want to give her a permanent stomach ache.
? Kateri oohing and ahhing over the restaurant where they “cook your eggs anyway you want them!” And her mother asking how that is any different from what goes on in her own kitchen every single day of the week.
? Believe it or not, spending ONE HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES in stand still traffic on our way out of the airshow. We played 20 questions, sang really silly songs, and made up stories about the people in the cars all around us. In the end, none of us killed each other or even (I think) wanted to.
? Having a kids room that was attached to but separate from the parents’ room in the hotel (How suite it is!)
? After a long day at the airshow, wearing the baby, walking in the sun, and then sitting in the above-mentioned traffic FREE COCKTAILS in the lounge. I kid you not. Of course we had to indulge.. they were FREE!
? Coming home again with our suitcase full of dirty laundry and our hearts full of happy memories.
