November 19th, 2010 I’m at Catholic Match today, with a letter to my fresh-faced single self in 1994.
If you can’t be an idealist now, when can you? When you’ve got four kids under five, are living paycheck to paycheck, and struggling to learn the basics of NFP? (Not that any of that is going to happen. Well, OK, it will happen, but it won’t be as bad as it sounds. OK,

November 16th, 2010 This afternoon, my four smallest kids — you know, the ones with the most pent-up, drive-your-mother-crazy energy these dreary November days — were in the living room together.
Kung Fu for Kids had them all concentrating. And kicking. And punching. In a good way.
Thank you, God, for the gift of tired children.
November 13th, 2010 My husband and a colleague of his are designing a multi-media middle school science course for homeschooling families. They are in the beginning stages and would like your input in order to create a product that meets homeschooling families’ real needs.

Thank you!

November 8th, 2010 Last week’s Twitter trend of tweeting “I had an abortion” started people talking about life issues on Twitter.
I wrote a column for the Washington Post that challenged the wisdom of women cheerfully tweeting about their abortions and shutting those who regret their abortions out of the conversation.
Then I was officially “in it” on Twitter. I had some thoughtful conversations with people who disagree with me, but I was

November 6th, 2010 At the Washington Post today, I am writing about the “I had an abortion” Twitter trend and the ways in which “pro-choicers” attempt to misrepresent abortion and mislead women.
Abortion is not a haircut. It is not a tooth extraction. Abortion is a moral decision to end a human life, stop a heart beat, and deny a defenseless human being the right to exist. Those who attempt to re-paint abortion

November 5th, 2010 My latest column at Inside Catholic:
When I first learned about the communion of saints in grade school CCD classes, I envisioned the souls in purgatory and heaven as largely nameless, faceless folks with whom I was somehow, inexplicably, spiritually connected. But now that I count Grandpapa and other real-life friends and family members among them, our communion has become more tangible and real.
