It’s Raining, It’s Pouring…

We haven’t lost our electricity so far, but we sure are getting a soaking.

I thought I would post a picture of what has been keeping kindergarten hands busy this morning.

And of course rainy days are good for baking these.

Hope you are warm and dry!

Nasty Nor’easter

There’s an ugly-looking storm headed in our direction. We expect still more flooding and strong winds tonight and tomorrow. As I anticipate that we will lose power sometime soon, here’s a recent column of mine to keep you busy until I get back here: Poetic Pickles from the National Catholic Register

Please pray for all those in the path of wild weather.

About Halloween

A Reader’s Question: I have a quick question for you, my far-away kindred spirit and internet ally. Does your family celebrate Halloween (i.e. go trick or treating)? I’m torn… it can be such a dark holiday but is so much fun for the kids!

My Response: Unlike many folks out there, I guess I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other about Halloween. We always went trick-or-treating

Well, this about sums me up.

I am not sure exactly what the meaning of this is supposed to be, but my blogging friend Rachel has tagged me to do the following:

1. Go into your archives. 2. Find your 23rd post. 3. Post the fifth sentence (or closest to it). 4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions. 5. Tag five other people to do the same thing.

And

Snoozin’ It

One of the particular joys of being a mother of many, I have discovered, is that I almost never wake up alone. This morning, I awoke to the sound of my alarm clock ringing and opened my eyes to find 2 year old Gabrielle lying next to me. I have no idea how she got there, but the sound of the alarm clearly was spoiling her rest. She groaned, grimaced,
